Recipe: 'Chili Cheese Burger '
Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 200 g canned chili (with beans)
- 1 onion, diced
- 4 lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices (as needed)
- Pickles (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, chili powder, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
- Heat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to allow the cheese to melt.
- While the burgers are cooking, in a small saucepan, heat the canned chili until warm.
- Toast the hamburger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers: place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, add the cheeseburger patty, top with a generous spoonful of chili, and add tomato slices and pickles if desired. Cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
